Nosizwe Nokwe-Macamo

Nosizwe is the Executive Chairperson of Raise Africa Investments.

Nosizwe is an Independent Non-Executive Directo​r of the Board of Airports Company South Africa, a position she has held since 1 September 2018.

Nosizwe has experience in Strategic Leadership, Business Development, Corporate Governance, Investment Analysis, Stakeholder Relationship Management, Risk Management, Innovation and Mergers and Acquisitions.

From December 1992 to June 2006 she held various senior management positions within Engen, including Managing Director for Engen Namibia and Engen Mozambique. From June 2006 to March 2007 she worked as General Manager: Strategy and Planning at Total SA. She was the CEO of the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency from April 2007 to October 2010 and was the Director-General on the Office of the Premier in the Gauteng Provincial Department from November 2010 – February 2012. She was the Group Chief Executive of PetroSA from March 2012 to November 2015. In 2016 she became the CEO of Varlolog, a company she founded.

Nosizwe has experience in multi-lateral stakeholder engagements. She has participated in the High-Level Ministerial Meeting on Mineral Resources Development (AMDC UNECA) 2018; Experts General Meeting of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa 2017; and International Expert Meeting United Nations Commission for Trade and Development 2010.

Her corporate governance knowledge has seen her serve in both as an Executive Director and as a Non-executive Director on the boards of oil and gas and other companies since 1999, bringing in depth understanding, value and transformation to each company on whose board she has served.

Nosizwe is an award winning and well accomplished business authority. Her passion for development and building enterprises has earned her the accolade of “Excellence in Business” – Women in Energy in Africa. She was the recipient of the “Female Business Personality “Award in 2013. In 2009 she was a finalist in South Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government Award in the government category. She was also the recipient of the Top Female Leader of Tomorrow Award in 2005.

M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (Gubkin Russia University of Oil and Gas) and augmented studies at INSEAD University, Gordon Institute of Business Studies (University of Pretoria), Graduate School of Business Studies (University of Cape Town), WITS Business School (University of the Witwatersrand) and College of Petroleum Studies (University of Oxford).
